Easy buttercream frosting


Here is just the recipe for my simple and easy buttercream frosting. Enjoy :).

Easy buttercream frosting

  • Servings: 1 1/4 cup
  • Time: 15 minutes

1/2 cup (4 oz/113 grams/ 1 stick) unsalted butter room temperature

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 3/4 cups confectioner’s sugar (powdered sugar)

Pinch of salt

2-3 tablespoons milk


  • Place butter and vanilla extract into a mixing bowl, and beat for a minute or so. Add 1 tablespoon milk and beat for 5 minutes.
  • Add sugar and beat at low speed.
  • Start to add milk one tablespoon at the time, until frosting is smooth (if it is too stiff add more milk. If is too loose add more powdered sugar).


**The frosting can be made in advance and it can be stored in the refrigerator for up 2 weeks.

** Use any food coloring you like.

**This frosting is good for cupcakes and cakes.
